On-Going Support:
1. Christ Community School Ruai Feeding Project: This school is an IPHC school that educates over 100 children, many of which are orphans. Ruai School not only provides the students with a Christ-centered education but also with 2 meals a day. For many of the students these are the only 2 guaranteed meals they recieve in a day. Each month we supply Ruai School with 270 kgs of beans and 90 kgs of maize to help offset the cost of the feeding program. (Click here for more details and pictures)
Special Projects:
1. Christ Community School Ruai Chicken Project: This project will serve as an income generating project allowing the school to be completely self sustained. We are in the construction stage now, but will require funds to purchase chickens, heaters, feeders, and feed in order to get the project off the ground. In the past we have also assisted in the construction of a 3-room classroom building, a water retention and storage system, and in the donation of school supplies.
2. Hosanna Children’s Home Well Project: This orphanage is located in Githunguri, about 45 minutes northeast of Nairobi. We have supported this ministry with funds to build a new kitchen, new insturments for the chapel, and a Christmas party and new shoes for the children in the past, but we are now assisting them in drilling a well so that they have better access to fresh water at the orphange. (Click here for more details).
Other Ministries Supported:
There are many other schools, orphanages, and churches that we support on an occasional basis as needs arise. These include:
1. Pistis Academy: A school and orphanage in Nakuru, Kenya that is home to over 100 children and educates nearly 230. They school suffered greatly during the 2007- 2008 post election violence, losing many tuition paying students. The school also added to the number of orphan non-paying students due to the violence, which is a blessing, but also a financial burden. If you would like to specifically help this ministry in any way, please let us know.
2. Churches: We support several churches throughout Kenya through visists, ministry of singing and (occasionally) preaching, and financial contributions.
3. Short-Term Ministry Teams: We travel with short-term ministry teams that come to Kenya during the summer months. We assist the teams in whatever areas needed, whether it is assiting in organization, partnering in ministry, or serving as drivers. (Click here for more details).
